As communities emerged from the disruption of the pandemic, Collaborate Out Loud was working with Action Together, the Greater Manchester FASD Network and local craftivists to raise awareness of an important public health message:
There is no safe time or amount of alcohol to drink during pregnancy.
This wasn’t a new issue, but it was one surrounded by confusion, mixed messages and stigma. Many awareness campaigns relied on traditional communications approaches that could sometimes feel impersonal or judgmental.
We wanted to try something different. The challenge was to create a conversation that could reach families, friends, neighbours and wider communities in a way that felt supportive, compassionate and human.
