As Greater Manchester continued its transformation of health and social care, there was growing recognition that supporting people to live well at home required more than high-quality care services. It required leaders who could work collaboratively, build strong teams, embrace person-centred approaches and connect people to the strengths and assets within their communities.
Home care providers operate at the frontline of supporting people to live independently, maintain relationships and achieve better health and wellbeing outcomes. The Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership wanted to invest in developing leaders across the sector who could embed person and community centred approaches into everyday practice while strengthening collaboration across the wider system.
